After obtaining my driver’s license

After obtaining my driver’s license several years ago, I drove cautiously following my parents’ instructions. However, as time goes by, I feel the need to practice driving properly. While having a car for my daily commute would be convenient and stress-relieving, I lack confidence in my driving skills. This led me to visit a driver’s license practice center in Sinchon called Daesung Driving School.

At Daesung Driving School, they offer a unique experience of practicing driving “indoors” using 3D simulation. The simulated screen is integrated with the actual vehicle’s steering wheel and gear, providing a realistic sensation of operating a car. They offer both manual and automatic driving modes, and the practice is divided into four categories: basic driving, intestinal function, road driving, and parking.

I focused on intensive practice of U-turns, road driving, and parking. The simulation screen displayed clear and realistic visuals, making me feel as if I was driving on a real road. The details, including the rearview and side mirrors, were implemented meticulously. It even simulated scenarios like other cars trying to cut into my lane or passing by swiftly, adding to the realism.

What I found particularly great was the option to select and practice at one of the four driver’s license test centers in the Seoul area. Before obtaining a driver’s license, it can be nerve-wracking to practice on real roads alongside veteran drivers. However, being able to practice indoors with a 100% realistic simulation of roads and vehicles is a perfect solution for beginners who lack confidence in their driving abilities.

The practice sessions at the center automatically score your performance. Points are deducted for sudden braking or acceleration, and running a red light results in immediate disqualification. Fortunately, I received fewer deductions and gained confidence in my driving skills. I attempted T self-parking and parallel parking, but I focused more on parallel parking as I was somewhat confident in T self-parking. However, parallel parking proved to be challenging, and I realized I need more practice. I plan to find areas without parallel parking for practice.

The practice center also provides convenient restroom facilities for both males and females. Whether you’re a beginner challenging the driver’s license, already have a closet license, or lack confidence in parking, visiting this indoor practice academy near Sinchon Station would be a great idea.
